When a graffiti artist wants you dead, you're TAGGED.

The economic strain hits home, forcing two rival schools to merge on neutral ground. Emanuella "LL" Harvey knows it's only a matter of time before students start dropping like pants on prom night. Her brother and Parkour tribe want her to fall in line and unite behind their claim for top spot, but she's fallen in love with her brother's biggest enemy--because apparently, she's suicidal like that.

Graffiti crew leader Brennan "Haze" Craig claims he has no interest in gang violence or "writer" infamy...he just wants to be with her. But masterpieces of LL start popping up on city walls everywhere, and all fingers and evidence point to Haze. To protect her, LL's powder-keg brother threatens a street war that'll add too many names to the student memorial. To keep tragedy from creepin' in, she must discover the identity of her lethal stalker--no matter how painful the truth--before she's tagged for good.

Two years ago her best friend betrayed her in the worst possible way – she’d be stupid to trust a man again. Besides, she has her daughter to think of, the only good thing to have come from that dark night.

Hi, Cassandra! DOUBLE VISION looks great. The NHL lockout is sure getting me down...how about you? You probably have more choices in college and minor-league hockey where you are, but SF is much farther away for me than the Shark Tank. Do you think they're right, that it'll end by Christmas because of the Winter Classic?

Trix, vitajex(at)aol(dot)com

brandi said...

What made you decide to write erotica?

calstephanie said...

Hi Cassandra! Double Vision sounds great. I'm definately going to add it to my must read list!

Cassandra Carr said...

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. While I'd like to say I think the lockout will end so the Winter Classic can be played, I don't think that's realistic. I honestly think we're going to miss another entire season, which sucks on about a million levels. I love hockey, and while we do have great college hockey and an AHL team that's affiliated with the Sabres about an hour away, it's still not my Sabres.
I understand the problems, but I really think the owners need to figure out that the players of today are different than even the players of 04-05. They're much more intelligent and informed and if the owners think they're going to make the players kowtow this time, they're underestimating the players.
Sorry for the rant, but I adore hockey and want to pretty much kick the owners for this. While I agree it's millionaires fighting billionaires I think the players have a lot of strong arguments. Okay, I'm really done now.
I hope you like Double Vision! Please let me know - I love to hear from readers after they've finished a book.

Jen B. said...

Oooo, three of the five books are already on my wish list! I have really gotten into sports themed books lately. Why are sports themed books so popular right now?

Cassandra Carr said...

Hi Brandi and Calstephanie! Thanks for coming by! I hope you like Double Vision!

Brandi - I decided to write erotic romance frankly because I like sexier books and I like writing sex scenes. I'm good at writing sex scenes (so the reviewers tell me). I still read some non-erotic romance, but I read a ton of erotic romance and mostly enjoy it more, so why not write it?

Cassandra Carr said...

Hi Jen B! I think sports romances are getting more popular because more women are watching sports AND because they're not afraid to admit how much they know about sports. Any guy who challenges me in a bar about an opinion I spout during a discussion is asking for trouble. ;-)

Cassandra Carr said...

By the way, for those who like sports romance, the wonderful Jami Davenport (who writes football romance) and myself are getting together all the great sports romance writers, including Jaci Burton, Deidre Martin and more to put together a sports romance blog. So far we've got 16 authors! We're calling it Romancing the Jock. Watch my website at http://www.booksbycassandracarr.com for more details. We're hoping to debut on January 1, 2013.

calstephanie said...

The sports romance blog sounds great! Dierdre Martin is one of my favorites and I'm going to pick up Jaci Burton's series here soon!

HockeyVampiress said...

Hi Cassandra.... you better get to kicking some owners butts for me so I can come crash in Buffalo and catch a game with my bestie!

HockeyVampiress said...

As for Double Vision I love love loved it! Red is such a cutie and you guys will just love him!

brandi said...

Love the idea of a sports/romance blog! I love my football!!!

Cassandra Carr said...

Ha HockeyVampiress - meet my lovely beta reader, everybody! She gets to read all my stuff before submittal. ;-) And she still likes me, so I guess the stories can't be all bad... HockeyVampiress lives a few hours from me, so we try to get to a Sabres game together (and sometimes with her son, HockeyBoy) every year. This year, sadly, we might not be able to uphold tradition.

Linda Henderson said...

What a great group of books, I'd love to read any of them.

Carin said...

Evening ladies! Cassandra Double Vision looks great! Do you have hockey players in the family?

Cassandra Carr said...

Hi Carin and Linda!
Carin, unfortunately, no. But my parents have been hockey fans for years and I can remember them taking us to games when I was a little kid. At that time I lived in a city with an AHL team, then moved to the Western New York area and became a Sabres fan. Now I love the sport so much I just have to write about it!
I hope you enjoy Double Vision!

Cassandra Carr said...

Hey everybody! I'm feeling generous tonight, so the first people to leave a comment with "I want Head Games" gets a free ebook copy of book 1 of this series (book 2 is Cold As Ice, book 3 is Double Vision).

Andddd go!
(if you already own Head Games we'll talk, but still feel free to enter!)

Hi all! I'm Amber Lin, author of Giving It Up. Stopping in to say hello in between bathtime and bedtime for the little one.

What are we talking about? Sports romances - YES! One of my favorite parts of them is their lovely covers. Did y'all see the new Jaci Burton cover? If not, LOOK IT UP. It will warm your nights. Here's a link for the curious: http://www.goodreads.com/book/photo/15716993-one-sweet-ride

Carin is my winner! Carin - email me at AuthorCassandraCarr AT gmail.com to get your prize.

And by the way, the other ladies here tonight have some GREAT books. Did you guys see the 4 1/2 star review Amber got for Giving It Up?!?

Cassandra Carr said...

Calstephanie - Yes, I do! I love that series! The third book, Momentum, should be out within a few months, and I'm writing the fourth right now. There will be a spin-off trilogy for that with Jess's brothers (Jess is the heroine of book 1, Impact).

amberlin said...

Thanks, Z. And yes, Giving It Up definitely has suspense elements. Personally I love books that blend erotica with romance with suspense, so that's what I wrote :)

Look, Cassandra is giving away books! Fun! I want to play. Okay, anyone who posts a comment saying they want Giving It Up gets a copy. I'm not gonna put a limit on it or anything because my brain is fried and plus I'M EASY.

(There may be other Hospitality Suites but WE WILL ALWAYS BE THE FUN SUITE!)

I love things like this that expose me to new authors!!

Cassandra Carr said...

LOL Amber. I'd say I want one, but I already have my copy! Just need to find time to read it. Wonder how much my DD and hubs are really expecting from me. Would they be okay with no dinner? Yeah, probably not. Booo...

We ARE the fun hospitality suite!

Thats my major problem! I have so many in my To Be Read pile. but so many good books and authors out there.

Joan Varner said...

Cassandra - I am adding your Buckin' Bull Riders" to my TBR mountain tonight. I love a cowboy. Can't wait to start the books.

Cassandra Carr said...

I did a funny interview today for anyone who wants to check it out: http://www.sarahjcarr.com/2/post/2012/10/interview-cassandra-carr-is-in-the-hot-seat.html?

amberlin said...

LOL, thanks Cassandra. And hi, Donna! We are all collectively prepping children for bed, aren't we? The life of an author and reader are pretty similar :)

Oh, and Brandi, what's your email address? Either add a comment or shoot me an email amber@authoramberlin.com to get your copy. Thanks!

Joan Varner said...

I agree with calstephanie - too many books and not enough time. But I work as many books in each week as I can.

Cassandra Carr said...

Joan - thank you so much! I hope you enjoy them! Momentum (bk 3) will hopefully release by the end of the year. If not, early next year with book 4, Velocity, not far behind. And the spin-off will start early next year.

brandi said...

Thank you to all of the wonderful authors that are a part of this wonderful event!!! Looking to bedtime for me! (eastern time)

Cassandra Carr said...

Amber - my DD is in bed (I'm in the Eastern time zone) but keeps getting up. The latest? My cheek hurts. What do you say to that?

calstephanie said...

Great cover for Momentum Cassandra!

brandi said...

Amber, Thanks I will email you!!!

Cassandra Carr said...

Calstephanie - isn't it awesome? I was so thrilled they actually found a bull rider. On a bull! (Heh, I'm pretty easy to please, I guess.)

calstephanie said...

I want Giving It Up. (Almost missed that post! LOL)

calstephanie said...

It is Cassandra! I can't wait to read the series.

Cassandra Carr said...

So tell me, readers...which subgenre of erotic romance do you enjoy the most? BDSM? M/M? Something else?

Did I mention my upcoming BDSM releases? I have one for Loose Id called Master Class (coming 12/11) about a new-to-the-lifestyle Dom and a FemDomme one titled Unexpected Top (1/18/13) from Ellora's Cave.

Just sayin'...

calstephanie said...

Don't think I really have a preference, although I don't read too many M/M stories unless they happen to be part of a M/F/M storyline.

Cassandra Carr said...

Interesting Calstephanie. M/M seems to be getting really popular. BDSM is also very popular and has been for a while. That "book that shall not be named" isn't why it's popular, but it can't hurt. Anything that gets people reading is okay with me.

amberlin said...

@Cassandra Obviously wine will fix that. I would drink too except I'm such a lightweight, I would just pass out. I can count on you to take advantage of me, right!?

I've got you down, HockeyVampiress and calstephanie! I need both of your email addresses, or shoot me an email here: amber@authoramberlin.com. That goes for everyone, if you leave a comment here saying you want Giving It Up by midnight CST, then you're in, so send me an email so I know where to send the book.

Now I have to scamper away for a minute, because the hubs decided to start playing Mario Kart without me. And no, THAT IS NOT A EUPHEMISM! :-P

calstephanie said...

Thanks Amberlin! My email is calstephanie @ yahoo.com Thanks so much!!!!

calstephanie said...

Cassandra ~ LOL on "the book that shall not be named" comment. Which I did read and enjoyed. I think you're right about the M/M genre. I see it a lot more frequently than I used to.

Cassandra Carr said...

@amberlin If you drink, you better believe I'll take advantage. Might want to make sure hubs has a camera...

I'm drinking a double cosmopolitan right now. For those keeping score at home, that's...a lot of alcohol.

Debby said...

One of the books sounds like a West Side story type of tale.

ad0ffae6-78f6-11e1-8cde-000bcdcb5194 said...

Cassandra--M/M for me, all the way! And yes, I'm siding with the players this time, too. Can't understand why the owners are complaining about 47% of the profit revenue, but would rather have 0% revenue just to make a point. Sheesh.

(A multi-author sports romance blog! Awesome. Just started Jami's FOURTH AND GOAL last night and I'm totally sucked in.)

In this rate by the end of the week my wish list will have soooooo many books LOL

Donna Alward said...

I'm awake! LOL Sorry to miss out on so much of the fun - PST is a bit of a challenge for me. You should see how jetlagged I was in Anaheim during RWA conference this past summer. It was NOT pretty...

Brandi - Hi! Glad you liked HIRED BY THE COWBOY - that was my first ever release from Harlequin. For the rest of you - it's FREE right now at amazon and B&N etc. as part of the "TryHarlequin" promo. It's a good way to check out my books and decide if you'd like more, lol.

I also write for Samhain - those books are slightly spicier and a lot of fun to write. My third novella in my FIRST RESPONDERS series is out next month and I'm starting work on the fourth today.

Anyway thanks everyone for dropping by! And Cassandra... thank GOD we have the Halifax Mooseheads to keep our hockey going in my city. Miss Hockey Night In Canada for sure.
