Final RAH Notes

Thank you all for making the RAH Conference so successful! We had more than 200 registered attendees (though just like any conference, not everyone participated ::g::). 193 readers and authors got together to share their love of romance and life in general on the blog. It was a blast, no? We had over 2000 comments!!

RE: Contest Prizes - those with an * next to their name (next year we are asking for screen names on the registrations ::g::) have until Friday to contact Andre with their particulars. Any unclaimed prizes will be redrawn from the registered attendees names on Saturday, May 6.

Speaking of which, Kay Thomas donated back her prize (Kismet from Monica Burns) as she wanted a reader to win, so DQ drew a new name from Friday's comments: Katy M - please send your details to Andre. :)

Please wait one month before contacting Andre about prizes not yet delivered. Authors are busy people and the mail is not always fast. :)

We will be having another Reader Online Conference next year; watch this space for details. :) I have plans to seek more publisher sponsors, more guesting authors and including actual live chats as part of the conference...it's just going to get bigger and better!

But here's a question for you: would you prefer to pay $5 (to cover shipping) as part of registration so we can send out Swag Bags to every registered attendee? Or stick with the First 50 get them free? And free registration. For most people, $5 is a cup of coffee, but that's not universally true - so please take a moment to weigh in on this. Thanks!!

I think that $5 is reasonable...Any idea how you're going to request the funds? Will cheques do or or are you going to do it via paypal?

$5 would be acceptable for sure to get a swag bag! I was bummed I didnt get registered in time for that...or you could do a certain number free and then after that number $5? But I would pay the $5 for sure!

I think $5 is definitely reasonable. The RAH experience is definitely worth that small price of admission. :)

I think 5 bucks is totally reasonable. Like you said, you can spend 5 bucks on a Cafe Mocha at Starbuck. This last week has been a blast. Thank you Lucy!

$5 is not unreasonable at all. Looking forward to next year's event.

I also think 5$ is very acceptable price and I have no problem paying it for next year.

I had a great time during the RAH and I'm so happy to hear that there will be another conference next year- since I live in Israel there is no chance for me to get to any real conference so this is the best way for me to intricate with authors and readers

I think $5 is totally acceptable. Especially if people know ahead of time, they can budget for that amount, a head of time.

I think that $5 would not be a problem. I will be joining and willing to pay next year.

Hi Lucy -

The $5 is definitely acceptable esp with all the time and effort you put into the RAH. I also liked nmulder81 idea too. I look forward to next year!!!

Thanks again,

I think that $5 would be acceptable. Seeing as how I could no way afford to travel to where the conference is at for next year the chance to do it in home again like this year would be so worth the $5. Plus with all I would be getting, just winning one prize and I have gotten my $5 back.

Sounds like everyone is okay with a nominal registration fee to cover postage for swag bags. :) Good to know!

$5 is a very reasonable. We would have to pay a lot more to go to a conference. I wouldn't mind paying that.

I think five dollars is well worth it. And the thought that there will be another conference for readers who can't make it is very exciting. Thanks again for a great time.

I totally agree. $5 is definitely acceptable. I'll need to know how to make the payment though as I am an international reader.
Thanks again for a wonderful time!

$5 is definitely acceptable. I do ask that it be payable via Paypal, as I don't have a credit card...
But yes, definitely a good idea!

I think $5 is fair. Especially if everyone gets a swag bag and all the hard work that went into organizing everything. Many many thanks to both you and Andre

Another vote for $5!

I think $5 is an awesome price. I'd be more than willing to pay that and would ask, what if we have someone else who's a reader but uses our same IP could they still register or would it be one pre family/address/IP?

I think this is awesome, and I'd love to be able to register early like now for next year!

hugs,
