Freaky Friday

Little bits of this and that...

I cannot wait to see the new Indiana Jones movie, how about you? Until then, here's a cool vid to watch that shows Harrison Ford being truly heroic and more manly than even his alter ego, Indiana.

And I've found the PERFECT game for DQ to play when she's not busy on the phone. Yeah, uh...that does happen from time to time. I'm sure of it...I don't have visual testimony, but I gotta believe that. LOL

The way of the future? Really? You gotta read this - I think it's pretty cool.

Sigh. I saw the Indy movie last night. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but I did not like it. At all. And I wasn't expecting a lot (it's been ages since the last one so I figured there would be an adjustment period).

Now I need to check out this video...

I have been looking forward to this movie for awhile, but will be waiting for it to come out on DVD. I have not been to a movie theatre in so long (I can't remember the last time I was there to see a movie) because of the high prices they charge.

Stacy - I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to be like you and not like it or be very disappointed. There has been so much hype about it.

Lucy I think the way of the future is like everything else they always seem to revert back to something that was from our past and think it is new.....lol. Can you see us with horse drawn cars......?? at the rate things are going.

Stacy...I read a review on Comcast.net that pretty much said the same thing. The readers commenting on it though loved it - most of them clearly from the older set. I'm thinking that for a 60 year old man, seeing another man past what most consider his prime playing an action-adventure hero would be pretty cool regardless of plot holes, etc. :) What did you think of the commercial? I thought it was uber cool!

Cryna...I'm like you. I very rarely venture to the movie theater, but buy the movies when they come out on DVD. I know I'll be seeing this one 'cuz Hubcap *really* wants to and while I'm less anticipatory 'cuz of Stace's comment - mostly because I trust her judgement - I'll still enjoy being with my gorgeous honey, so it's all good. LOL

As for the news story - I just cracked up, but I was also impressed that they looked for a solution. Hubcap has been saying we need to get more serious about alternative fuel sources for years. His favorite two - which have yet to be perfected - are solar powered or hydrogen powered vehicles. I'm hoping that the solar powered thing doesn't end up looking like the cars on Eureka. :)

Mu hubs and kids want to see the new Indy movie as well. I am curious, but also wary because of the few negative reviews I have seen.
The mule idea certainly seems to be needed right now! *G*

Brandy...you are so right. :) If only we all were as creative.

Limecello...what is Dark Knight? And do I need to see it? LOL

"Dark Knight" is the next installment in the Batman series. Christian Bale plays Batman and Heath Ledger play the Joker. I can't wait to see the movie. I'm going to wait for Indy Jones on dvd. Movie tickets cost $12 here.

Thanks, Jane! Hubcap wants to see that movie too, but I'm pretty sure it'll be one he sees with b-i-ls and I watch when it comes out on DVD. Yes, movie prices are atrocious, aren't they? With a family as large as ours, it is always cheaper to buy the vids, even when they are first run.

The video is cool, Mr Ford is in excellent shape for a 60 year old but I have have to say oweeeeeeee...I have never really been into any of the Indy movies even though I like Harrison Ford as a actor. I will probably watch the new movie but wait until it comes on cable.
I want to see the Dark knight as well. I will probably wait until it comes on Pay Per View.

I got a kick out of reading that using mules are the wave of the future... Someone must not know their history. LOL! To combat fuel prices my hubby and I decided to quit going to dinner and a movie everyweekend. We were spending over $50 per week. Instead we cancled our basic cable and had Dish Network installed. We now get over 250 channels and all the movie packages for about $50per month more than we were paying for basic cable. Plus we get access to all the pay per view movies. We have found that we are saving at least 150 per month and we only have to wait a couple of extra months for the movies we really want to see to hit pay per view.

Amy - that's brilliant! Hubcap is considering creating a blog focused around how the average household can help with global warming. It's amazing what you can do to conserve resources when you stop and think about it.

I've not even seen the first few movies. I don't think so, anyway.
My husband is looking forward to this one though.
