Yogurt covered blueberries and other forms of Ambrosia...

Okay...my first foray into blueberries as decadent treats happened about four years ago. Dh and I were on an overnight date away from the kids and we went to Starbucks for a drink. He bought be a box of chocolate covered blueberried. I was hooked. Hershey's later came out with a chocolate bar in extra dark with blueberries and cranberries. Can you say, "Very happy author?" I am convinced that there is no greater brainfood for a romance writer than blueberries in dark chocolate, but in a pinch...I'll settle for the healthier alternative of yogurt covered blueberries made by Archer Farms. They're not too sweet and really are healthy. Go figure.

So, my theory is that Ambrosia was really some kind of blueberry dipped in yogurt or chocolate...what do you think?

And speaking of Greek myths, several series have been written around them lately. My favorite of course is Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters. I just think someone needs to email her and explain that Ambrosia is not like jello...that couldn't be Ambrosia, yeah? It's gotta be chocolate dipped blueberries.

Harry and David make the best ever chocolate covered blueberries. YUM!! Did you ever read Kristine Grayson? She wrote a more lighthearted series about the Gods, Fates, Warlock's and superheroes. But, The Dark Hunter series is wonderful as well.

I agree with Brandy about H & D's chocolate covered blueberries. And Home Goods carries them at a discount. Whenever I'm there I pick some up.

Lucy, I knew there was something about you that I loved! ;-)

I am feeling left out. I have never tried chocolate-covered blueberries. Don't worry, I will rectify this situation asap (all in the name of research of course lol). I agree Lucy, that chocolate would have to be involved in Ambrosia! :)

I can't eat chocolate (allergies) but Chapmans makes the yummiest blueberry pomegranate burst ice cream in the whole world. Mmmm.

Blueberries. Yum!

Shannon McKeldon has a book coming out... In December, I think... called Venus Envy in which Venus is a snarky fashinista and unwilling Fairy Godmother to a reluctant Cinderella type character. I'm looking forward to it:)

Lucy,

Sigh - I've never had chocolate covered blueberries - they must be a North American treat. They're not sold here in Australia. Hey - another good reason to travel!

And there could be something in them being brainfood for writers! Did you know researchers are looking at berries and blueberries in particular as a food that may help counteract the impact of the brain's ageing? Not sure if it's been proved yet but it's another excuse to indulge.

Okay I love blueberries and yogurt. But have never had them covered in chocolate, I might be wrong but I don't believe we can get them here. I like Coffee Crisp chocolate bars and the other day came across ones covered in Yogurt and that was great.......but will have to look and see if they have the blueberries and chocolate here........Sounds like a great thing to have......

There you have it...even if you can't eat chocolate, blueberries are definitely brain food! LOL

TJ...Shannon's book sounds like a total hoot. I'm betting I end up blogging about it, yeah?

I'm on board with any combination of something and dark chocolate. It is supposed to be the more "healthy" chocolate. My personal favorite is raspberries with dark chocolate, but will have to try the blueberries. That sounds yummy too!

I don't know about the blueberries, but we have the most awesome chocolate covered dried cherries here. Absolute heaven!

I like blueberries and I like chocolate but I've never had them together. I'll have to hunt some down. I hope I can find it here.

Now if you said chocolate covered strawberries... I love those. Yum, Yum!

I have tried chocolate covered blueberries that were made by a Finnish company. Mmmm... I like chocolate covered raisins and nuts, too... And I miss peanut butter M&Ms and other peanut butter sweets. *Sigh* Can't get those here in Finland! =(

No peanut butter treats??? Oh, wow. Now, my kids would think they were dying. They are all big pb & choc fans. LOL

If I wan't peanut butter treats I have to make them myself. Fortunately there is Lonely Planet and Get Stuffed! One of the people who visit regularly those internet pages knew a recipe for peanut butter bars.

But I still miss peanut butter M&Ms and Reese's peanut butter cups and bars.

But when I was in the States there were 2 things I missed besides sauna and rye bread and they were salmiac and xylitol sweets.
