Sunshine and Sparkly Smiles

I am loving this renewal of warm weather and sunshine. Don't know where it came from, but it is LOVELY. And it brings out my favorite thing...sparkly smiles...in everybody. The neighbors smile when I pass them on the way to pick up teens from school, the teens smile washing the car 'cuz they're *enjoying* getting wet, hubby smiles...well, maybe just because. Man, that guy has a great smile!

And well, no matter how much my back hurts, I'm definitely smiling. TAKE ME is going to be out soon...in fact, it may already be on some bookstore shelves. (If you have a sighting, will you share?) I'll be blogging more about it next week, but suffice to say, this book is one of my all time faves and I'm uber eager for reader reaction.

Another thing that makes me smile? Wonderful editors. They really rock. I'd turned in my revisions on my latest HP and my ed is on the wire schedule wise for it, but I got to feeling the ending was rushed and I needed to revisit the final scene. Her answer? Go ahead, just get it to me yesterday. LOL So, I'm working on that today and loving this process that makes doing what I do so very special.

I want every book to be the best one yet and having editors who are willing to let me do my thing, well...that totally blesses me.

Discussion Question: What brings out the sparkly smiles in you?

Sparkly smiles? A hug from my kids,or a fall day with cool breezes and sunshine,or Halloween and the cute little kids out for the first time, and my DH. Sometimes we just look at each other and smile. You know that smile. The one where you show the love and naughtiness you feel for each other tempered with the knowledge that you've been together for a long time and can pretty much tell what each other is thinking?

My grandson is a year old and is just such a happy baby. It's a joy to be around him and as a result whenever I see him I have this big smile for the whole day.

My nieces and nephews make me smile. My newest niece is 3 months old and a really happy baby. I saw her this weekend and she just makes me grin.

I agree that this slightly warmer weather is wonderful. It was too soon for the 50-60 degree highs.

Let's see... I also get "sparkly" smiles when spending time with the family. I also enjoy surprises in my mailbox (one came today!).

Sparkly Smiles huh? Lately its been my sisters dog. Trixie was pretty sick and seems to be on the bend. Its so good to see her wanting to play and running to see you when just last week she was so week and tired. Today she kept wanting me to stay and play and that just made my whole day.

Oh, today was like that here, too. After 3 days of rain and tornado warnings, it was a gorgeous, sunny, warm day - and I had the day off. Definitely put a smile on my face.

Seeing people I love, giving them a hug, knowing they are happy to see me; babies; baby animals; catchy music...and just being alive and healthy.

The weather definately brings out a smile when the sun is shining, but knowing that I have done something to help my parents out is another thing that brings out a smile and gives me a warm feeling.

Hearing from my kids or grandchildren and speaking to them on the phone is another big one.

I love it when it's raining and I can be inside, under a blanket, with a good book, and snuggling :-)

Aww...your comments are definitely giving me sparkly smiles. :) I think the things that make a person smile says so much about what goes on inside her. You've all got some pretty nifty insides. LOL

Sparkly smiles, huh? Nothing keeps a sparkly smile lingering longer than a fabulous, feel-good romance book, the kind my friend Lucy Monroe writes so beautifully.

I hope you're feeling better, Lucy, and thanks for the many smiles you've brought to me since I discovered your books!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Hugs,
Denyse

Hope your back is better soon, Lucy! I couldn't stop smiling recently when I received my wonderful assortment of books from you for the recent blog prize! It was just like early Christmas! Thanks so much for your generosity!

The lovely fall weather here in Ohio is making me smile -- the leaves are starting to turn and our recent bouts of rain have stopped for the moment.

Spending time with my family this past weekend at my cousin's wedding was wonderful. We don't get together too often so it is always good to spend time together. My three nephews (my "men" as a friend calls them) always make me smile. They are 6, 9 and 15. Their different concerns and perspectives always amaze me and of course they're just so darn cute.

Glad the writing is going well despite your chaos. You are an amazing woman!

Hope that your back is "back to normal" real soon!

As for sparkly smiles -- spending time with people I love, good friends, just having time to relax and enjoy special moments.

It seems that everything is rush, rush, rush.... so any time that there is time to enjoy the moment makes it special.

Hugs and smiles from my students. When my oldest daughter (4 years) comes over to me and says, "I like you, Mommy". Holding my friends' babies. When my dh smiles at me.

It has been a couple days since you posted this, I hope that you are feeling better.

What neat, neat, NEAT responses! This has been a really fun blog, and yes, I left it up a bit longer because I've been enjoying hearing "the good stuff" so much. :)

Thank you all so much for sharing!
