Guest blogs & MIA

The bad news is that we aren't going to have a guest blogger this week. The good news is that we'll have TWO next week. One on Monday and one on Wednesday! Denyse Bridger will be back on the 14th and one of my favorite people as well as writers, Diana Duncan will be coming by on the 16th.

As soon as I finish this book, I'm going to start contacting the authors you've all requested and see how many have time to do a guest stint. I'm happy to contact just about anyone, so please don't hesitate to add to the suggestions.

I'm pretty much MIA, I know you all know it's the writing. It's going well, but there's just a lot of it that needs doing between now and deadline. :) BUT I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes! It was a fabulous day and evening and I got really neat presents. I'll try to post a picture of the statue dh bought me to go on my "inspiration" shelves...they're on the hutch of the desk that faces me when I'm sitting in my "cockpit" (you can see a picture of that on my "Funstuff" page on my website).

So, now that you've seen my "cockpit" - what's your ideal work environment or hobbyist domain?

I used to dream of a stamping desk with tons of shelves and dwarers and lots of stuff where I could reach everything I needed to. Now my daughter is the big stamper and scrapbooker, but I'm very happy with my cockpit for my writing. Though...I could use a couple more shelves. LOL

Hugs,
Lucy

My ideal workspace is clean (meaning un-cluttered) with lots of table space and storage. None of my desks (I have 2 at work... for two different jobs and one at home) are un-cluttered, but I know where everything is. Now if I can get some projects done so that I can get that clutter cleaned up...

Love your workspace, Lucy ;-)
My ideal workspace would have bookshelfs nearby with all my books, the desk would have to be tall enough that I can cross my legs comfortably...I have long legs, and sometimes they hit the bottom of the desk...I want a comfy chair, that can twist and turn, with good cushioning. I need a stereo to play my music. Good lighting. A bulletin board to put up notes and pics. A throw blanket...for comfort :-)...and lots of mugs, I love them for both drinking out of, and a place to put all my pens, lol
Can't wait for Denyse and Diana to post next week :-)

I don't have a workspace per se, but when I am on my computer, I am in my favorite chair with my lap-top on my lap, a diet dr.pepper on my left and also my phone on my left. It's almost like a caccoon(sp). Glad to know the writing is going well.

I don't have an office, but at work, I like being surrounded by everything within reach, and if I had my way, a radio/cd player would be a part of it. I don't mind messy cuz I know where everything is LOL

I love the missiles and fuel lol. My area looks like a hurricane hit it lol. No matter how much room I have (which is never enough) I fill it up.

I have traveling workspace. It only makes sense since I move more often than a man on the lamb. :) I have a shoulder bag that holds my notebook, flashdrive, personal recorder and a few notecards. It has also been known to carry diapers and sippy cups, what can I say, I'm a multi tasker.

Happy belated birthday Lucy! Glad it was a good one!

Like Brandy i don't have a workspace but I am on the computer alot. When I am I like to have a pillow on my lap to rest our laptop on while reclining on my recliner. I like having the phone on hand to check the caller id and a cold glass of water. This really helps since I am in my third trimester of pregnancy and need all the comfort measures I can put together. My recliner is also my favorite place to read since I like having my feet propped up to help with the swelling.

I agree with having everything close at hand. My computer, printer, phone, comfy chair, books, TV, stereo, etc. And best of all, it's right off the bathroom. :-D

Lucy,
Love the cockpit analogy! I'm also a big stamper/scrapbooker and would love a bigger workspace with lots of counter space and shelves to organize everything. The magazines always have such great examples -- if only my spare room were triple it's size. At work I have an nice size office, but it is in the old part of the hospital (which I swear is haunted) and the decor is about 40 years old. Would love a new coat of paint and some new curtains. Don't even get me started on the carpetÜ.

Neat looking cockpit Lucy.
My ideal workspace would be a whole room with lots of shelves, a TV, a mini fridge, and good of lighting.

I do quilting, scrap-booking, and I make cloth diapers. I carry all my stuff into the kitchen and take over the kitchen table. It sure is a lot of work having to clean everything off when we eat.

We do have a small empty room downstairs that is used for storage, and one of these days I will tackle it and make it into my very own craft room.

Neat cockpit, Lucy.......my ideal workspace is having shelves and things in ready access.

Looking forward to the guest bloggers next week........

Hope you get everything done....

Love the cockpit :o)
right now I work out in the open of the basement, back to the door (which is breaking so many feng shui rules!), I'd really love to have a room or at least a few walls of my own to hang up posters. Right now I have a framed hockey print balanced on a ledge above the monitor and a framed Don Johnson poster leaning against my rolling storage cart. Good for inspiration :D

Lucy, you wanna laugh!

I buy everything pratically on the market to organize a person and spend all kinds of time trying to use all these great ideas but never remember where the heck did I put it. Nothing seems to be routine enough to remember where it went. I really thought before I went to heaven that I would get it together but I'm having serious doubts now.

But I have my books all in banker's boxes in alphabetical order so I can find them when I want them. I ran out of shelves long ago.

Your work area is so nice and neat.

There is always hope though. grin

My work space sounds worese than it is. i'm under the stairs!! we have quite a wide hallway, so its not as isolated as it sounds. On the wall I have my first review and pics of the kids, as well as some pretty bits and bobs on my desk.On a totally unrelated topic I just wanted to let Lucy know that i've received my goody bag from Nicola Marsh this morning. Thanks Lucy for a great party!!

I'm a terrible procrastinator and when it got to where I couldn't walk into my home office, my sister came over and we cleaned it out. She should be on TV on one of those organization shows.

I also joined www.Flylady.net who is wonderful. She has a great system for getting and keeping your home clean 15 minutes a time.

I really enjoyed the blog party and look forward to more blogging.

Stevi Mittman would be a good guest blogger.
I need a new computer desk.
Today's my birthday! I hope I have a good one like you did, Lucy.

Right now my desk at work is cluttered with papers and this and that. My ideal desk would be completely organized with a place for everything and everything in its place. Maybe someday I'll get it the way I want it. I love Lucy's space. It gives me some good ideas.
