A good day for writing...

The kids are either away or at "Take Your Kid to Work Day" at dh's company. Which means I've got time to write *without interruption*. Imagine that in a household of teenagers!

Good news is that I got 14 pages and several hours of necessary research done yesterday. Not so good news was the realization that I actually had about 175 pages to write to finish the book, so I'm ahead but at the same place as yesterday. Does that make any sense??? LOL

And don't forget...tomorrow is our guest blog with Lora Leigh! Be there or be square! (And I don't want anyone reminding me that Hewey Lewis says it's "Hip to be Square"! LOL)

Speaking of guest bloggers, you got any preferences? I'm putting together a pretty fab schedule, but I'd love your input.

Hugs to all,
Lucy

Uninterrupted writing time? HEAVEN! Best wishes for getting tons of pages done.

I'm really looking forward to Lora Leigh's guest blog tomorrow -- and can't wait to hear what you're cooking up for us next!

It sure must be very peaceful at your house! Good luck getting a lot of writing done -- as long as the heroes don't cause you too much trouble. ;-)

By the way, the new look is great!

Your blog looks great, Lucy. I love it.

My writing time is never very much. Having a toddler makes it hard, too. I was only able to write during her nap time for a while. My hubby uses the computer in the evening, but since I got a laptop I'm able to write at night too. I love it. I'm getting done at a much quicker pace.

Hope you get tons done :)

Ohh, I like the new look. It's very sunny and clean looking.

Have you ever read A girls guide to Vampires by Katie MacAlister?
Very sexy and very funny. It's not often that I actually laugh out loud while reading a book, but I did with this one. I'd love to see Katie as a guest blogger.

I can't wait till Lora Leigh's guest blog spot tomorrow.

P.s, So nice to know that even as teens you can't do anything uninterrupted. Mine are only 8, 3 and a 6 month old. I bet yours let you go to the bathroom alone right? right? please say they do!!! I need that hope for the future, LOL

Please write lots, please! I am addicted to your books.

And Chantal? They eventually stop coming in with you, they still stand outside the door and ask for things though. Oh, and if you have cats....you NEVER get to go alone.

You don't look old enough to have a household of teenagers, Lucy. Must have been a child bride. ;-)

Chantal - My boys (10 & 11) don't follow me into the bathroom anymore, but now the cat does. *eyeroll*

See? Brandy posted that too! LOL

Love the blog's new look -- very nice.

I think it's great when some of the newer writers are guest bloggers. It's a good introduction -- for me, at least -- to their work.

And as far as pets in the bathroom -- my last dog loved to sleep in there. I think she liked the coolness of the tile floor. We were forever stepping over her to reach the facilities.

Yep, I love the new look too. Have fun writing.

As for guest bloggers, well, I like what you've done so far, however...my dream choices would be Suzanne Brockmann and Judith McNaught.

Oh I do like the sound of the take your kids to work thing. we don't have anything like that in England. My children are always popping into my work though. I'm in the local library, so its quite a child friendly place anyway. But DH works in a fizzy drinks factory.I'm SURE that they would love to spend the day with him!!

How about Liddy Midnight as a guest blogger? She's awesome!

Considering you've had over thirty books published in the last four years, I think you are using your time very productively! I’m blaming the heat on the fact that I’ve only done 14 pages in the last month; my brain is melting down here in North Carolina! What did people ever do before A.C?

Love your new look at the blog.

I hope you get lots written, now that you have your research done.

I picked up Ready, Willing and Able yesterday, so I am excited to start reading them.

I have another author to add. Cassie Edwards. I am positively addicted to her Savage series.

Thanks for the info about kids and cats in the bathroom ladies, lol

How about Debra Salonen, Jill Shalvis, Vicki Lewis Thompson or Susan Grant?

First...can I just say that I think the people who visit my blog are some of the NICEST ones around? Thank you all for always being so supportive and just for being yourselves. I love coming here to read your comments and chat with you. :)

Second...please keep suggestions for guest authors coming. I'm writing down every one and will be contacting them very soon.

Third...I got a lot more editing than writing done yesterday. I spent too much time on the phone with my kids who are out of town and solving the world's problems, or at least some of them with a friend. Sigh... I can be such a goof. :)

Well, something is better than nothing :-)
I'm sure I'll love any of your guest bloggers :-) I'm so glad you started with Lora Leigh.

I've finally come out of lurking and have to say I love your new blog look!

As for guest bloggers how about Donna Kauffman, Jill Shalvis, Deirdre Martin or Rachel Gibson.

Here's a couple more: Anne Frazier, Cheryl St. John, Heidi Betts, Susan Crandall and Suzanne McMinn.

Lucy Monroe said...

Thanks, Ali! I'm a huge LL fangirl myself. As you probably know. :)

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom, Susan! I hope you'll stay that way. :) Great suggestions for the guest authors...I've added them to the list.

Minna...THANKS! Great names, all of them. I'll definitely be contacting all of the authors suggested here.

And please, if there is someone else any of you want to see come, *do* add their name to the list. :)

I was looking through my books and spotted "Forbidden" By Tori Carrington (Harlequin Blaze) That motorcycle scene is unforgettable.
They must have so much fun writing those love scenes. It would be fun to pick their brains. :)

Great new look. I love it. I hope you got to do lots of writing.

I would recommend having a blog day with Christine Feehan.

Great suggestions Chantal and Veronica! And I'm glad you like the new look, Veronica. I'm really loving it too. ;)

Some of the guest author suggestions are so out there in the stratosphere, I'm afraid to contact the, but I'm gonna because "nothing ventured, nothing gained". :)

Thanks, Minna for the additional suggestions!

Lucy,

I'm rather late with an idea here but I LOVE Sarah McCarty's books. Her characters are so real and she does historicals that will make you melt. Now they can be HOT but they do have great characters and stories.

I'm going to meet her Saturday at the booksigning and I can hardly wait.

I'm not sure how hot your readers like it but I have other suggestions as well.

I believe she has been mentioned, but I would love to see a guest blog from Heidi Betts (Desire author) or Cait London.
