Salutations with Sunshine and Smiles

It's beautiful and sunny here today and I love it.  In fact, I'm getting ready to take my Dana to the back yard and write outside.  The writing life may take more hours than a lot of careers, but it has its perks for sure.  And sunshine is one of them.  Despite my sun allergy which dictates that writing will get done in the shade. LOL
I'm definitely smiling today because The Scorsolini Marriage Bargain is #1 on the Borders Group national bestseller's list.  That's three for three on this trilogy and it feels SO good.  For a number of reasons, but chief of which is that each book sold represents a reader connecting to my story and that is uber important to me. :)
Am thanking God because I am only a little over 50 pages from finishing my current WIP and that's really nothing short of a miracle.  LOL
How about you?  Enjoying any sunshine, the real Vitamin D producing stuff or the kind that lights our life with joy no matter what the weather?  Why are you smiling today?

Yeah Lucy! That's fantastic news!

I'm not a sun person, so I don't go out often in it...yes, the vampire rumors about me are true!! LOL

But I've got my windows open, there's a beautiful breeze blowing and I'm going to work on my first book for Nocturne!

I like the sun, but not the heat that goes with it!! My favorite time of year is Fall, with the sunshine, but cooler weather. Glad to hear you are well.

great news! I can't be in the sun much without turning into a lobster but I like the light coming through my windows. It definitely cheers me up.

Submitted my first novella, biting my nails while waiting. Got a few new ideas on the way to work today so perhaps I've gotten over the trauma of the burglary then the tree falling fun.

CONGRATS! I can't wait to read it myself. ;-)

It's TOO HOT here today to enjoy the sun outside, but we have the shades in our office open.

I'm smiling because it's almost the end of the month and are tons of great books coming out then. LOL

I could just do with a little less humidity. ;)

I love the sunshine as long as I'm in the shade. *grin*

Congrats on getting so close to the end of the book, Luce. I know how good that has to feel!

Hope your Mom's doing well. I've been thinking about you.

Glad to hear you are having a wonderful day. I too have been thinking about you.

I'm with Brandy. I enjoy the sunshine but not if it is too hot! It has been hot and muggy here. We are feeling more like Florida then California because of the humidity! Yuk!

Congrats on being so close to the end of your current WIP. I'm sure that has you jumping for joy. Continue having a great day :)

Hey Lucy! So close to finishing the WIP, YAY!

As Kelley said it's been a lot more humid here than usual (even in San Diego!) It really zaps the energy.

That said, I love being in the sun, though I don't always get the chance. In college I was outside every afternoon for track practice (I was a discus thrower). I miss being outside especially in the sun.

As for what has me smiling today, I'm happy because I taught a community college class for the first time yesterday and got some some great feedback (mostly positive). It was especially nervewracking being my first time, it wasn't really "my" class, and my mentor was observing. My mentor said he thinks I am going to be a great teacher. He's a great teacher himself, so I was really happy to hear that:)

Congrats from one of your very happy fans! I read this new book the other day and loved it as much as I enjoyed the 1st two. You are a GREAT author and now definitely on my "must buy" list! Thanks so much! From Love Ann (new fan in Chicago).

Congrats Lucy! That's fantastic! It is hot and muggy here in So Cal. Ick. But, I am all smiles anyway. My kids are off at camp, leaving me and the hubby all alone for the week. Yee-hah!

Lucy, Congratulations! It doesn't surprise me because in my opinion all three books are winners!

I used to be able to stay in the sun and turn brown. Now I burn even with sunscreen. As a result, I don't stay out much. Like Brandy, I love the Fall.

Glad to hear that your WIP is going so well!!!

Glad to have you back and in such wonderful spirits! I hope everything is great with you and your family. Say "hi" to mom for us.

Hugs dear Lucy, for a job beyond well done. I just got my copy of TSMB today, so I can't wait to start reading it. LOVE the cover *g*

Lots of reasons to smile. The weather has been just gorgeous in the Chicago area (waving to Love Ann) - not too hot - but now we might be in for some storms. I went and saw "Wicked" on Sunday - it was fabulous. There are quite a few wonderful books coming out these days. Life is good.

Welcome back Lucy :)

Hey, Vivi...LOL on the vampire rumors. There's a book to write. My life as a vamp author. And what, darlin', is Nocturne?

Brandy...I admit, I'm spoiled. We have central AC, so I only get as hot as I want to be and then go inside to cool off. It makes a huge difference. But I miss sitting in the sun. I still love the feel of the heat around me though.

Oooh...good on you, Maura! Let us know how the submission goes!

LOL Holly...I hear what you're saying. I know I've got three books I plan to buy at the end of the month...what are your TBBs that are making you smile?

Hey, Monica, thanks! Yep, shade is a very good thing!

Kelley, humidity can be the pits, can't it? I'll never forget stepping outside for the first time in Puerto Rico. Talk about humid! We got used to it, but I wouldn't make it a yearly vacation spot. LOL Thanks for buying TSMB!

MichelleB...WOW!!! Way to go woman! That's just so darn exciting! Will you be teaching through the summer?

Thanks so much for posting, Love Ann, and for your kind comments! I hope you'll keep visiting. :)

Lori...hon, enjoy your freedom to its limits! ;-)

Lidia...THANKS! And I love the fall too. My very favorite time of year is when the leaves are turning, it's sunny and you can taste the crispness in the air.

Hey, Stacy! Mom is doing pretty well and likes the sunshine from the air conditioned environs of her front room. :) (Thanks to all who asked.) It's great to connect with you all again. I'll be back online at Vamps & Scamps as soon as I get this book turned in. :) Thank YOU for connecting with me here. It really means a lot. :)

Thanks for the brief update on your mom, Lucy:)

As for me, I'll be observing more and possibly teaching some days the rest of the summer in this class to prepare for teaching in the fall.

Yay! I can't wait to read it!!
The sun is out in full force here. My kids are loving it, and spend all day outside. I try to stay out of the sun because it makes me feel sick, so I always find a nice shade spot.

Well, let's see: On The Way To The Wedding, the last book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series.

The Scorsolini Marriage Bargain, which I haven't picked up yet but intend to do so tonight (YAY ME!)

Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich, the newest in her Stephanie Plum series (I can't tell you how amazing I find it that JE has managed to keep this series so fresh! She has mad talent!) - which I have, but haven't read yet. *sigh*

Cover of Night by Linda Howard

Dangerous Tides by Christine Feehan

Edge of Danger by Cherry Adair

The Kept Woman by Susan Donovan

Plus, there are quite a few ebooks I want, too, but I don't have my list right here and I can't think of any of them off the top of my head. LOL

Now I just need a second job to pay for them all. :)

Thanks, Chantal! Bet you got a touch of sun stroke when you were younger, yes? It never really goes away...you're always susceptible after the first time. I got it when I was 8, but didn't really have major sun allergies until they put me on synthetic thyroid. Now, I may as well be a vamp with Vivi...only I go outside a lot, just in the shade. I love to see the sun glinting off everything even if I can't bask in it.

Holly...good choices! I just got Susan Kearney's latest in the mail. The Quest. Cannot wait to read it!

Hugs to all,
