Ahead of The Davinci Code...

In e-book anyway. :)  Harlequin chose my Royal Brides trilogy for part of their launch into the e-book market.  My editor and I just found out because...the book pack is currently the #1 selling book on eReader.com (the world's largest e-book store), right ahead of The Davinci Code!  Isn't that fun?

And an update on my current WIP:  I'm definitely getting closer to goal.  Which is great news.  I'm at page 325 and the book is going to be somewhere around 380 manuscript pages.  I think.  I tend to write long, even when I don't want to.  It's really flowing now, but it just takes longer to write than it used to.  I think I weigh my words more carefully, or something.  That can only be a good thing, right?

Hugs,
Lucy

AWWW! Congrats, Lucy! That's so awesome!

Ok, this might be kind of a silly question..but I don't really understand the eReader thing. Basically, you buy a book and then read it online? Is that right? Forgive me, but I've never really understood the whole eBook concept.

And WOOHOO that things are flowing so well for you. I think longer is better anyway. LOL

Hugs,
Holly

Oh hon, I'm sooooo with you in your angst, turmoil and all the other writer stuff. I just cleansed my soul, so I'm thinking of you and sending you good thoughts that the words keep rolling smoothly and that there are no jagged edges up ahead.

Hugs, Monica

I must be the only person on earth who has no desire to read (or see) The DaVinci code. HOWEVER, I am always willing to read a Lucy Monroe book!

Hey, your books may be just what I need to venture further into the ebook world. Still a bit behind on that one, and really not feeling too guilty about it either. I think I just need a little push. A Lucy Monroe book will do that :)

Holly...eBooks are soft file books. In other words, you can read them online, download them to your computer for reading there or on an eReader or PDA. I prefer paper books myself, but there are readers who love the technology. And I read quite a few eBooks because they are not available in print and I love the authors. :)

Monica...I understood where you were coming from and loved the sentiment. So there! LOL

Brandy...you are *not* the only one. And THANKS!

Stacy...LOL There are a couple of benefits to buying the book pack. First, you get a big discount. Second, you get to read the 2nd and 3rd books now.

I just think it's very cool they are selling so well. :)

Lucy, That's great -- CONGRATULATIONS!

Glad that your muse is flowing. I am sure that Beth and Ethan appreciate that.

On another note for those of you that visit the eharlequin site.
Lucy's June HP release "His Royal Love Child" has been chosen by the hosty - Dee, as the June "READ WITH THE HOSTY."

This is what Dee posted: "Yup, Nicki! "His Royal Love Child" by Lucy Monroe. It's was a hard pick because there are some great titles to be had, but I'm a sucker for those "Whoops, I'm pregnant!" stories! And Lucy is just a must buy all around."

I whole-heartedly agree with Dee's comment.

Hugs,
Lidia :-)

Lidia...that is so neat about eHarlequin! Thanks for sharing!

My muse and my schedule came to a shrieking halt today when Mom got admitted to the hospital again. It was a bit dicey for a bit, but they're trying a new heart med on her. Unfortunately, they think they may have no choice but to go with a pace maker. (With her other ailments, *any* procedure, no matter how small, is ultra risky for her.) So, I spent 5 hours chatting at her bedside today and am thinking I *must* get some writing done now. :)

Congrats Lucy! I tried to post my congrats on the Vamps & Scamps group as well, but Yahoo ate my post:S Anyway, what great news! I'm starting to favor ebooks only because I am running out of space to store my paper books. That doesn't stop me from loving the paper copies though:D

Just read your comment about your mom! I'm so sorry to hear she had to go to the hospital. I'll be praying that the new meds work and she can avoid the surgery!

I thought that was the deal, but wasn't entirely sure. I can't imagine giving up my paper books, but I can see the appeal.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom. I'll keep her and the rest of your family in my prayers. I hope all goes well and she comes through everything on top!

Hugs!

Thanks, Michelle, Holly and Serena! Mom is having a rough time with the hospital stay as it is so uncomfortable for her, but what needs must. She's such a trouper. We're staggering visits today and mine is in a couple of hours.

Serena...thanks so much for posting! I got your email and am struggling determinadly to get through all those currently in my personal in-box. :)

Hugs to all,

HUGE Congrats on beating our The DaVinci Code!! WooHoo!

I'm so sorry that your mom is in the hospital. My dad did very well fo years and years with a pacemaker - it was like a new lease on life for him. Sending good thoughts for your mom and you and your family.

Holly, I was very skeptical about trying ebooks, but once I tried them, I was hooked. I still do prefer the feel of paper in my hands, but some authors I love just aren't really available in papre right away, so I do what I must. I read on an ebook reader - I would hate to sit at the computer for hours to read a book - ick.

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes and prayers for my mom. She *is* an amazing woman. Still not sure if they'll risk the pace maker, but she's having other complications while in hospital. Not a new road for us, but it never gets easier. Faith and hope get us through and my family all appreciate every day with her gifted to us. :)

Hugs to you ALL!

Hey Lucy, not to take away from what's going with your mom, but I thought you might like to know Michelle posted part 1 of her interview for Nathan Kamp - you know, the guy on the cover of your book "The Scorsolini Marriage Bargain". Here's the link...
